About

When I first tried my hands at making radio 🎤 in 1999, I immediately knew that that’s what I wanted to do. I do enjoy writing too and today I’m glad to be able to combine my skills and interests as an independent producer. Born and raised in Germany, I’ve lived in New York City 🗽 since 2013, still working almost exclusively with German clients.

As a hobby, I code 🧑‍💻 handy tools for my (and others’) journalistic work, such as a customized recording and transcription tool for Asterisk phone systems, or converters to open Reaper sessions in Hindenburg and vice versa.

I enjoy gathering people and fostering cross-pollination 🐝 as a volunteer with the Bosch Alumni Network, the Meeting of Independent Radio Producers, and at tracks, a community of podcast and radio professionals that I created. I’m also a member of journalists.network, the German Science Journalists’ Association WPK, the German Journalists’ Union DJV, and AIR, the Association of Independents in Radio.
